Concept of WinCan Map
Konzept von WinCan Map
A1WinCan Map is an additional module to WinCanVX and allows the user to import existing pipeline data provided by GIS managers (engineer offices, local water authorities etc.). The pipeline data usually are queried from a geographic information system (GIS) and sent to the TV operator as a file package in the SHAPE format.
The operator then imports the SHAPE files into WinCan Map where the pipeline network can be visualized on a background map. Next the objects to be inspected (i.e. sections and manholes) must be selected and transferred into WinCanVX.
After this data transfer the operator is able to select a section in WinCanVX and have it shown directly in WinCan Map and vice versa. Uninspected and inspected sections are highlighted in different colours so the operator always gets a direct information about the inspection progress.
