Introduction

The module WinCan Draw is launched from a WinCanVX project and opens a drawing interface to create a sketch, that shows either all sections or just the highlighted section inside the current project. Such a sketch is usually based on an existing plot or a satellite image of the survey spot and allows the user to draw the situation/pipeline course very close to reality.
Launch the module via the tab command Extended Modules > WinCan Draw and select one of the corresponding sub-commands:
21

  1. Select the sub-command Project Drawing to have a project drawing created, which allows you to draw the situation of all the sections inside the current project.

  2. Select the sub-command Section/Node Drawing to have a section drawing created, which allows you to draw the situation of a specified section inside the current project.

Unlike MapVX the module WinCan Draw is unable to recognize coordinate data.

Clicking on the sub-command WinCan Draw – Project (in case of a project sketch) first opens a panel, that provides basic drawing presets:

  1. Image Added

...

  1. 1The part Image contains two options: you can open an project sketch which is either blank or already shows a background image based on an digitized plot or a satellite image.

  2. 2The part Layout allows you to preset the page layout (i.e. portrait or landscape.

  3. 3The part Size is used to enter the default height and width in pixels. The values can be modified. The default size 1024x768 is recommended as higher resolutions will result in a smaller sketch on the report page.

  4. 4The part Distance calibration allows you to define the length ([m] or [inch]) the page width should correspond to.

  5. 5The part Grid contains an option to enable or disable a grid line on the drawing page and an option to have drawing elements either snapped to the grid or not.

Click on the button OK to confirm all the presets and to open the WinCan Draw interface:
