Vitec not detected - Showing red light (D5)

It is intermittent when reported, however, on occasion a Vitec will not show in device manager and will just show a red light on the card itself. This light refers to a failure of the card to load it’s firmware leading to it being unrecognised on the motherboard.

 Troubleshooting

  1. Try Removing the input connections from the Vitec and restarting the PC to see if Red light clears.

  2. Remove and reseat the Vitec Card into the slot 1 in the PCI-E lanes. This should clear the D5 red light, then retest multiple power cycles.

  3. Test on Mains power to see if the issue is replicated.

  4. Make sure to be using a recommended PSU for the card, our recommendation is a 500W PSU such as the EVGA 500w that we use with our builds.

Known PSU’s presenting the issue:
- Corsair RM650 Fully Modular
