Licenses, Troubleshooting
Questions/Problems
There are currently three problems that often occur with valid WinCanVX licenses:
An unlimited valid license must be reactivated on the same computer it used to work before
An unlimited valid license must be reactivated on a new computer
An unlimited valid license is a license for unlimited use the customer has already payed for and which is registered as ACTIVATED in the WinCan information system.
3. A message box tells the user to connect to the internet within a given time span to re-validate an unlimited valid license which is yet activated. Despite the user is ONLINE the message box still appears:
Solutions/Answers
Verify which of the cases above may correspond to your current license problem and proceed accordingly:
Case 1
Proceed as follows to reactivate a valid license on the same computer:
Make sure the computer is connected to the INTERNET
Launch WinCanVX and wait until the license has been validated: a corresponding message box will then pop up above the system date and time display.
If necessary contact the WinCan administration and ask for a new license code
Case 2
Proceed as follows to reactivate a valid license on a new computer:
Make sure the computer is connected to the INTERNET
Write an e-mail to the WinCan administration team (sales@wincan.com) and tell them the license number and the name of your company.
If you don’t know the license number, tell the WinCan administration the device name of the old computer where WinCanVX was installed before: right click on the desktop icon This PC, select the command Properties and check what’s written under device name as highlighted in the sample below:
Once the our administration has got all the information, it will send you the new license code for that specific license via e-mail.
Activate the license on the new computer using this new license code → OK
Case 3
Open the START menu, hit the command Settings and select the category Time & Language. Next check the system date and time on your computer and have it synchronized:
