Introduction

The module WinCan 30 finally provides you a three-dimensional image of the pipeline network that has been inspected with the 3D Geo-Sensor. This is especially important to visualize complex pipe courses as they would look like in reality.

Working with 3D Application

Select the command Map → load map to lay the DXF plot below the pipeline network. Even if shown as two-dimensional surface it will help the end user to easily locate the inspected objects:

Data Export

The pipeline geometry can also be exported as a DXF file via the command File → DXF export:

Altitude Profile (2D)

Select the desired object (i.e. section or lateral) and hit the command View → show 20 profile to get a 2D-graphic of the altitude profile (based on the Z-coordinate):

The Z Profile view is available in the WinCan 3D Application and also in WinCan Map. It is the same tool and it works in 2 modes:

  1. Live mode, where user can see the Z profile of the pipe in real time during the measurement as it is being created. In this case, the line always starts on the left side and travels across the screen to the right, so it can go up or down depending on the direction that the measurement is being made.

  2. Review mode, where the user selects any line object in WinCan Map and the Z Profile of that object is displayed. In this view, the upstream node is always on the left and the downstream node is always on the right, so we should expect the line to always go down from top-left to bottom-right for good drains. This is the same logic that is used in inclination reporting and this tool is available to all WinCan Map users, not just for 3D Measurements.

In a future update, it will also be possible to print this graph from the printing centre in WinCan VX.
