Question/Problem:
Customers all over the world must use the official templates and catalogues provided by WinCanVX that strictly follow the pipe assessment standards in the corresponding countries.
Besides the official templates some inspection companies in some countries require slight modifications their end customers insist on (e.g. list of pipe materials, pipe shapes, pipe diameters, etc.).
How can we make sure an operator of an inspection company will be able to easily modifiy an official template without loosing the orginal templates that may be used for other end customers?
Answer/Solution:
Make sure that the version 1.2024.15.2 or higher is installed on your computer.
Create a new section or double-click on an existing one, so you get the input mask to enter section and inspection data:
Keep the CTRL-key pressed and double click into the field content (1) to modify the following field properties:
The following dialogue pops up and only shows some basic field properties users may modifiy (2) :
Visible (show the field)
Transfer (transfer field content into the next record)
Mandatory (set data entry as mandatory → field appears in yellow)
Predefined list fields (e.g. pipe material, pipe size, section use etc.) can be modified as illustrated below:
Right click on the list, select the context menu command Add (1), and confirm (3)
The option Distribute user template (2) is checked per default and applies the changes for future projects created on the current computer.
Changes will be saved in the local project database file and in C:\Users\Public\Documents\CDLAB\Common\Resources\sqlCE\WCUSER.db3.
