Introduction
This documentation describes how drone projects can be prepared in the Flyability Inspector to be imported in WinCan VX.
Requirements
A WinCan VX Expert software licence incl. module/feature 3060 is required for the drone import. This is not activated by default. If you have an Expert licence, contact us at sales@wincan.com with the keyword "drone import". The module will then be activated free of charge.
Title | Requirement | Remark |
---|---|---|
License | -Expertlizenz wit module/feature 3060 -Only available for Software licenses (no USB dongles) | Email sales@wincan.com with the keyword "drone import". The module will then be activated free of charge. Only valid for expert licences. |
Version | From WinCan VX Version 12.0 | Available at www.wincan.com |
Flyability Inspector Software | Paid premium version required in order to create the trajectory point cloud that is needed for the WinCan VX import | For questions about Inspector Software contact Flyability |
Prepare project in Flyability-Inspector Software
Download and install the premium version of the Inspector-Software. The premium version is required to process and generate the flight path (trajectory) and to generate the point cloud recorded during the flight. The premium version is free of charge for the first 30 days.
To be able to import the drone data into WinCan VX, the following 4 POI's have to be added:
Tag/POI | Description |
---|---|
start_manhole | Cover level |
stop_manhole | Pipe level |
start_inspection | Pipe start |
stop_inspection | Pipe end |
start_manhole, stop_manhole, start_inspection and stop_inspection must be added to the POI's as tags (therefore do not use the fields "Name" or "Comment"). Also be sure to pay attention to the spelling. The tags must be written in lower case.
Example 1: start_manhole:
Example 2: start_inspection
Beispiel 3: stop_inspection
This is how the project looks like with the correct POI's including tags/markers in the Inspector software:
In addition to the POI's, the following information is also imported into WinCan VX:
The name entered for "start_inspection" will later be imported into WinCan VX as upstream manhole. If nothing is entered, WinCan VX will name the upper manhole like the flight number with the suffix "_1".
The name entered for "stop_inspection" will later be imported into WinCan VX as downstream manhole. If nothing is entered, WinCan VX will name the lower manhole like the flight number with the suffix "_2".
The flight name is imported as the section name
The "Comment" field is imported into WinCan VX as an observation remark
The last step is to create the trajectory in the Inspector software:
Import drone project into WinCan VX
Create project
Create a new project in WinCan VX with the desired standard. To do this, click on "Projects->New Project":
Select the desired standard (e.g. Isybau or VSA) and then click on "Next":
Import drone data
Click on "Data Exchange->Drone Import":
Select the desired directory and then start the import. Depending on the amount of data, this may take a few minutes:
After the import, the sections including videos are displayed in WinCan VX:
If you now create a new observation, the distance is automatically taken from the respective position in the video.
