Question/Problem:
The device VTG2 is an overlay provided by the manufacturer PS hard- & software GmbH. It is an integrated part of some camera systems made by RAUSCH GmbH and RICO GmbH.
To use this OSD device the corresponding drivers from the company PS hard- & software GmbH have to be installed on the computer.
There are also different sub-types of the device VTG2. How can the operator quickly figure out which device and drivers have been installed?
Answer/Solution:
Run the tool DeviceEnumerator.exe located in C:\Program Files (x86)\CDLab\Assemblies.
Hit the button search VTG2 to check whether or which VTG2 subtype is currently communication with your computer. The cases below show all communication results the tool may return:
No VTG2 device is found.
VTG2 B/W is found but no driver is installed
VTG2 is found but the Virtual COM-port is not enabled.
VTG2 found but the drivers for the serial port is not installed
CVTG2 found and all driver are installed
Unknown situation detected
If the test tool shows one of the messages highlighted in RED, the camera reseller must check the VTG2 installation and ask the company PS hard- & software GmbH for the latest driver version which must be compatible with the corresponding version of Microsoft Windows (Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11) installed on the current computer.
