We are phasing out the physical dongles. In future we will issue software licence keys. This key will register your desktop WinCan VX with a single PC using our licensing servers. Internet access is recommended to complete the registration.
Things to know
Once registered periodic re-authentication to validate the licence will be required. Every 30 days (minimum) WinCan must be started with the PC connected to the internet. The process is fully automated with nothing more for the user to do. You will receive a gentle reminder if your licence is running offline and you approach the date this check in is needed. If you pass the 30 day check in period WinCan will start in viewer mode until internet access is re-established. If desired, we can also send an automatic email if a reactivation is required.
Once you are up and running with this software key you will no longer need the physical dongle. Our Head Office would like the old dongle back.
If a license expires or is already expired our Head Office can activate a license again. You don’t need to activate the license again.
A software license registers a PC to allow WinCan VX to function. You can activate a license on one machine only. Please create an Alias to identify the PC when registering. Activation Instructions
