Installation of WinCan VX inside a Citrix Environment

Introduction

WinCan VX Dev Version can be used on a Citrix Server (e.g. XenApp) especially for further processing of collected data. You can view the videos, change, print and add data. The function of recording videos via Citrix is not supported. 
This version is ready to work with SQLCe, MSSQL and Oracle. In case of a MSSQL database only the record should be blocked (edition mode).

Installation

WinCan VX

Install WinCan VX with administrative privileges on the Citrix XenApp Server(s). Set the with security level to edit (write and delete) for the two installationfolders. "C:\Program Files (x86)\CDLAB" and "C:\Users\Public\Documents\CDLAB"
After the installation, you have to edit the file C:\program files(x86)\CDLAB\WinCanVX\WinCanVX.exe.config Replace "False" to "True" for the parameter "CitrixMode".

WinCanLockManager

The activated WinCan Lock Manager prevent the using of 1 Project at the same time.
Go to the folder C:\program files(x86)\CDLAB\WinCanLockManager. Execute the script: activate_citrixmode.bat (as administrator).
Start the WinCanLockManager-Service via the Service Manager in Windows.

Publish Application

Publish the Applicaton C:\Program Files (x86)\CDLAB\WinCanVX\WinCanVX.exe.

WinCan Lock Manager

This Module prevent using 1 Project at the same time. To view who is working on it, and to unlock a project you could start the Manager from VX inside (see below). The LockManager could also be started as a standalone application: C:\Program files(x86)\CDLAB\WinCanLockManager\LockMonitor.

Licensing

An additional WinCan VX license is needed for each concurrent use of the WinCan VX application. If several users have to work with the software simultaneously the purchase of a network license imposes (see basic documentation WinCan VX Entry, page 8-9).
