ArUco marker placed incorrectly

The marker is critical for orientation and directly impacts reconstruction accuracy.

  • Place the marker perpendicular to the manhole wall.

  • Ensure the tag/marker is positioned roughly at cover level.

  • Verify marker visibility in the camera feed beforehand.

Video quality set too low

Lower resolutions reduce image details and affect the accuracy of results.

  • Ensure the camera is set to 4K resolution.

Placement of the ArUco Marker (QR Code) in the Manhole

The left side of the image shows the optimal placement of the ArUco marker: perpendicular to the manhole wall and with the tag/marker positioned at cover level. The right side demonstrates incorrect placement: the marker is too high and not parallel to the manhole wall, which can negatively impact the results of the 3D reconstruction.
