How do I deactivate a software license and put it onto another computer?

Instructions for Current Computer

Transfer of software licenses is controlled by system admin and in some cases will not be available if the account holder has requested or deactivated this feature. If deactivate licence is not visible please contact account admin or WinCan. 



Step by Step Guide Before attempting this procedure make sure you have a good internet connection.

  1. Choose Home Tab

  2. Select Program Information\Manage license and click License settings




  3. Choose Deactivate → You will be prompted to deactivate the license. Click the confirm pop up with Yes.
    The registered account holder will get an email to say License has been deactivated (if notifications are activated).



  4. Once the license has deactivated a new key will be shown (requires internet)

This key is unique and can only be used once to activate a computer, once activated the key is then obsolete. Make a note of the number by taking a photo, sending sms to phone or save to clipboard and put onto a memory stick


Instructions for New Computer

  1. Choose Home Tab

  2. Select Program Information\Manage license and click License settings

  3. Enter activation code you copied earlier. (screenshot, sms, photo etc) Be mindful entering Zero or letter O
    Fill out the Alias: this is useful information for identifying the computer if problems occur. Try to make it unique and clearly identify the machine you are registering the licence on.


  4. Click the green tick to Activate license. (Internet required)


    The registered account holder will get an email to say License has been activated (if notifications are activated).




If typing in an activation key make sure to correctly differentiate between a 0  (zero) and O (letter O) or else it will not be valid
